María José Pizarro questions Gustavo Bolívar's accusations about "warehouses" in left-wing campaigns.

Gustavo Bolívar's allegations of payments to "bodegas" and influencers to stigmatize candidates caused a great stir among the Historical Pact forces and the country's political landscape. The former senator and official asserted that he is now the target of this strategy led by members of the left itself.

In response to these allegations, Senator María José Pizarro spoke out, accusing her Bolívar, with whom she does not have a good relationship, of stigmatizing progressive influencers.

“Advertising, citizen activity on social media, and influencers will be present. I don't share the stigma. Most influencers are genuine progressives who have built a defense of ideas for change through social media,” Pizarro said.

Along these lines, the pre-candidate and senator asserted that the Historic Pact candidates must avoid "dirty play" and focus on their campaign proposals. She then went on to discuss the agreements they have been reaching among the various candidates seeking to assume the official leftist candidacy.

“Let's agree on ethical, fair, and transparent rules. Let's agree on a program for continued change. Only then will our voters be able to freely and well-informedly choose who represents our principles and vision, who can contribute to and win in 2026,” Pizarro declared, adding: “My invitation and my work is to unite, convince, enamor, and win.”

In that same message, he referred to the agreements they have been consolidating and that will be announced next Saturday at the Historic Pact convention. "The definition of the mechanism for selecting the progressive presidential candidate is crucial because the future of Colombia is at stake, as is the continuity of social policies, or a return to the past, to a government of elites and clientelism."

Pizarro stated that any chosen mechanism "must encourage the participation of progressive activists, regions, and social bases." In this regard, he asserted that the decision will be democratic and must be accepted by all those participating in the consultation.

Over the past few weeks, talks have been underway to agree on the mechanisms for selecting the Historic Pact candidates. One of the debates is whether the October referendum will be open to all citizens or only to Historic Pact members. The future left-wing party has opted for the former, but this has not yet been made official.
